Every Rose Has its Thorn peaked at number one on the Billboard charts from December 24, 1988 to January 7, 1989, and peaked at number three on the Billboard Year-End Chart.

It is a power ballad song, and it gives a very different atmosphere from Unskinny Bop or other music. It's a mix of country scents, and it's a little heavier than Bret Michaels' handsome face, always smiling, bright and cheerful, and feels more like Welcome To The Real World.

In fact, the song begins with Bret Michaels sigh. Of course, writing this song came from Bret Michaels' personal experience. One night while dropping off clothes at the laundry, he called his girlfriend from a payphone, and heard another man's voice over the phone. Desperate, he wrote this song on the spot.

That's why, if you watch the music video, Bret Michaels is lying on the bed with a woman, but she doesn't look happy at all. And there are scenes of taking a tour with other members on a bus, and a lot of scenes from the 1988 tour are inserted.

It is also different from the image of a rock star that we usually think of as a rosy road in life. So the title is Every Rose Has Its Thorn.

The expression that every rose has thorns, and that behind the bright side there is also a dark side is a perfect fit for this song. In a way, there is a clear subject matter, and the heavy sound of an acoustic guitar.

The opposite of Bret Michaels, who proudly ranked No. 1 in the sexiest musician in 1990, is surprisingly well suited to the opposite side of the image.

Bret Michaels, who formed Poison, was born in 1963 as Bret Michael Sychak. At the age of 6, he became ill and was hospitalized for three weeks. He started playing guitar as a teenager and formed a band with Ricky Rocket and Bobby Dall.

The band name before being named Poison was Paris, and after coming to LA, the band name was changed to Poison. And around 1984. Bret Michaels met Tracy Lewis, who became his girlfriend after she was 16 at the time, and her presence is imprinted as the muse in many of Poison's songs.

He signed an early contract with Enigma Records and released the album Look What the Cat Dragged In, but it was not a huge success, and he began to make a name for himself with the success of Talk Dirty To Me in 1987.

And that year, he broke up with his girlfriend, Tracy Lewis, and this experience was the motivation for composing Every Rose Has Its Thorn. At any rate, the following year, 1988, Every Rose Has Its Thorn, which was released in 1988, was a huge hit, reaching number one on the Billboard charts, and Open Up and Say… … Ahh! Millions of albums with a theme that may sound somewhat provocative also sold millions of copies, and Poison is on a winning streak.

Bret Michaels was not in good health, and in the mid-1990s he was in a car accident while riding a Ferrari and was seriously injured. In the 2000s, there were health difficulties, such as being hospitalized due to heart disease, but since 1999, Poison has been reunited and has been doing well until now.
